Beginners/Intermediate Linocut Workshop

£75.00

Beginners/Intermediate Linocut Workshop

Saturday 13th April 1.00pm – 5.00pm

William Hobbayne Centre, 1 St. Dunstan’s Road, Hanwell. W7 2EY

£75.00 -  4 hour session including all materials. There will be tea, coffee and homemade cake!!!

This day workshop is suitable for beginners and those with previous experience.

In this workshop I will show you..

- How to design, transfer and carve out your design
- How to create single and multi block prints
- How to make a tesselating tile.
- You can pick and choose which techniques you’d like to use as the day goes on
- You will have 1 x 20cm x 15cm piece of lino and some smaller warm up pieces (that could be made in to stamps and tiles)
- If anyone would like to try cutting up their block for the puzzle piece multi colours technique I can also guide you through that.

I keep my demos brief so that you get maximum time making, but I am very happy to help you individually too.

We will be working with 20cm x 15cm soft carve lino and printing on A4 paper by hand. Using cranfield safe wash, oil based inks for beautifully crisp results.

Important info..

Your prints will still be slightly wet at the end of the workshop so please bare that in mind. If you are coming in a car you could spread them out on the back seat. I would aim for everyone to have at least 2 x A4 prints to take away and their carved block so you can get the kit and print more at home if you get really in to it :)

* We will be using sharp tools during this session. I will tutor you on how to use them safely and by purchasing the ticket to this workshop you accept full responsibility for your own safety when using the sharp implements.

Limited to 6 students
