About
Based in West London, Vivienne Keable is a printmaker and tetile designer whose work is informed by nearly three decades of experience within the fashion and surface pattern industry.
Raised in rural Worcestershire, her lino prints draw inspiration from the flora and fauna of the British countryside, antique ceramics, traditional decorative arts and the gardens and landscapes that continue to shape her visual language.
After graduating with a BA (Hons) in Textile Design and Surface Decoration in 1997, Vivienne developed a long career as a fashion print designer, refining a distinctive approach to colour, composition and pattern which now informs her printmaking practice.
Working from observational sketches, photography and painted studies gathered through travel and everyday surroundings, she creates hand carved lino prints which combine elements of textile design, botanical observation and traditional relief printing.
Her work reflects a fascination with rhythm, ornament and craftsmanship, shaped both by the decorative traditions of England and by journeys abroad, including formative travels through India.
Vivienne’s work has been exhibited at the WWT London Wetland Centre in Barnes, alongside galleries, markets and events across London.
